Program Overview

The Zion Foundation's literacy programming equips youth and adults with the reading, writing, and language skills needed for lifelong success. Through structured, engaging instruction, the program strengthens foundational literacy, builds confidence, and fosters a lasting love of learning. Youth services include small-group, afterschool support focused on phonics, fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and writing, using standards-aligned curriculum and interactive activities. Adult literacy services emphasize functional reading, communication, and skill development that support employment, education, and daily life. Experienced educators and trained specialists provide differentiated instruction, progress monitoring, and culturally responsive materials. Participants gain stronger academic habits, improved performance, and the confidence to thrive in school, work, and community settings.
