Program Overview

Most parents send their scholars to high school, with the expectation that they will get a good education leading them into a 4 year university, to earn a degree that would get them a "good paying job" to live on. The problem with this, is that students aren't given a road map that would lead in the right direction for their intended career, and parents are often operating off of an old frame of knowledge.

Purpose of the event: To inform parents about current workforce trends, financial literacy, graduation requirements, career pathway opportunities and to provide needed workforce development skills. To show parents how the West Charlotte CTE Career Pathways are an essential part of aligning students with current employment demands, and equipping students with the foundational knowledge and industry credentials needed for all students to be successful in institutions of higher learning or the workforce.
