Program Overview

The Words to Wealth Literacy Project is a free community program hosted by ONFIYA Agency, Inc. that helps adults and families build stronger reading, learning, and money skills together. The program is open to adults who want to earn their High School Equivalency and improve everyday reading, writing, and math skills. Children of participating adults are welcome and will receive age appropriate literacy activities while their parents are in class.

The program runs for six weeks and includes adult classes, children's learning time, and special parent and child activities where families learn together. Adults receive support with reading, writing, math, and test preparation, along with basic financial skills like budgeting and goal setting. Children take part in fun reading, storytelling, and learning games that help build confidence and a love for learning.

Words to Wealth is held in a safe and supportive community setting. All instruction is led by caring educators who understand the needs of families. Student and Volunteer Success Stories

Before joining the Words to Wealth Literacy Project, I felt stuck. I had been out of school for years and didn't think earning my High School Equivalency was possible for me. Reading long papers, doing math, and even filling out forms made me nervous. I wanted better for myself and my family, but I didn't know where to start.

Words to Wealth gave me that starting point. The classes were easy to follow, and the instructors really cared. I learned how to read with confidence, improve my writing, and understand math in ways that made sense for real life. I also learned how to budget, set goals, and make smarter money choices. The best part was being able to learn alongside my child. We read together, talked about our goals, and encouraged each other every week.

Now I feel proud of myself. I am preparing to earn my High School Equivalency and I believe in my future again. My child sees me learning and is more excited about school too. Words to Wealth didn't just help me with school. It helped my whole family believe that we can do more and be more.
