Winter Wiggles PreK Drop In Program

Program Overview

The Winter Wiggles program design is for participants to learn, interact, and achieve. They learn by reading the descriptions of the animals on their coloring sheets at the beginning of the program for ten minutes. Afterwards they gather for interactive free play with animal puppets for five minutes. Then it is story time for ten minutes. They follow along as I read them a themed animal story. After which I show them the themed animal, explain the adaptations, biological functions, habitat, life expectancy, etc for ten to fifteen minutes. We wash our hands, and then the children interact again to help pickup the toys, crayons, and papers for five minutes. Finally I lead them on a guided museum tour to wrap up the program and allow for extended socializing for children and parents. Many of the parents and families know each other and enjoy this time to catch up as I stay around for informal education and questions. The Winter Wiggles PreK family drop in program serves 255 children and 102 adults per year.
