Program Overview

The Compass Adult Literacy Program provides adults ages 18+ with basic literacy classes, intermediate reading and writing to prepare them with the skills necessary to enter into HiSet or GED equivalency courses. Some of the basic classes include computer literacy and specialized EL services.

The HFF Youth Literacy Program includes Bilingual story times, comprehension activities, tutoring, and EL services. Our Literacy Program offers both youth and adults the opportunity to learn in a safe environment that meets them where they are in their journey to literacy.

All services are provided in the heart of the international community at Hispanic Family Foundation's office inside of Plaza Mariachi Music City, open Monday through Friday. Classes and services are provided on a weekly schedule and can be accessed by calling the office at 615-562-2222.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

You helped my daughter discover a love for reading. The story times she attended captured her imagination and she began to try to set goals to read more books! Now her teachers tell me she is going to higher reading levels and loves to participate in class reading discussions.
