Program Overview

We are a community college based Adult Education program that offers High School Equivalency (HSE) classes and English Language Acquisition (ELA) classes for individuals who are 16 years of age and older and meet certain requirements. These free classes are offered in the morning and evening at the Aurora Downtown Campus as well as other locations in the community. HSE instruction is offered in math, vocabulary, reading comprehension and writing skills to prepare students to pass all four tests for the GED® credential. ELA classes help students who are non-native English speakers to learn about the U.S. culture and improve their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills from literacy to the advanced level.
