Program Overview

Children of adult participants in LENA Start & Grow benefit from the development of engaging literacy-rich environments that build vocabulary, early reading skills, & school readiness. While caregivers attend sessions, children participate in developmentally appropriate activities like story time and play that promote language & emergent literacy. Caregivers & educators also learn the skills to promote language & emergent reading into daily lives at home or in the classroom. Books & classroom materials are also provided to families & teachers to support continued learning, reinforce language growth, & strengthen the adult-child bond.
