Val Verde Unified School District - Family Engagement Center

Program Overview

The mission of the Family Engagement Center is to empower families as leaders and change agents so they can support their
children to become responsible, contributing citizens who are able to function in a culturally diverse society. The Family Engagement Center engages parents as valued, equal partners, and celebrates families' existing strengths. It focuses on organizing family outreach efforts in the form of multiple presentations, trainings, and informational sessions
for parents within the Val Verde community. We offer
a series of course offerings that revolve around five different areas: Family support for student academic achievement, computer literacy, parent leadership, health and wellbeing, and parenting. Our doors opened to the public in October 2014, and have continued to thrive since then.
