UC Aspire's mission is to help adults achieve their educational and career goals. UC Aspire provides free classes for students who want to get their GED, improve their English, or want to get job training. UC Aspire offers classes at flexible locations and times. Students are required to attend orientation, complete required testing, and meet regularly with student support specialists. Take a look at what we provide:

  • English classes: UC Aspire offers in-person and online classes to students who want to improve their English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
  • GED exam prep/pre-college classes: UC Aspire offers online instruction in Reading & Language Arts (RLA), mathematics, science, and social studies that can help prepare students for the GED exam. Our classes can also help students who are concerned about taking remedial math or English in college.
  • In-demand career training: UC Aspire offers workforce development programs that lead to industry-recognized credentials such as Microsoft Office Specialist, Retail Industry Fundamentals, Google IT Support, and more. Our training combines academic skills, occupational skills, and professional development.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

"Meeting the people in my class and the relationships I built [were some of the highlights]. Getting a new job that will hopefully be a career!" — Kyle Nash

"Some of my highlights were the knowledgeable instructors and meeting my new peers. The training materials and overall educational programs were great as well." — AH

"The pacing was nice and we didn't spend a bunch of time reiterating material that we knew (and instead) spent a lot of time quizzing on things we weren't familiar with. NEXT Careers was great for interacting with people from all walks of life. I enjoyed reading the different perspectives on topics we discussed." — DH

"All of the instructors that I have [had] the pleasure learning with were compassionate and very helpful [and] at the same time, understanding and patient." — Tony
