Program Overview
Twin Lakes Literacy Council is a non-profit organization of volunteers working to improve literacy in our community. We provide free one-on-one tutoring to people who need better reading, writing, English, basic computer, or math skills.
Call us at (870) 425-7323 if you would like to enroll in free tutoring. We will evaluate you and your needs and set you up with a volunteer who can help you.
We tutor all kinds of people in a variety of subjects. Call us if you are…
- An adult who would like to improve skills in reading
- A parent whose child shows markers of a learning disability in reading or math
- An adult who needs better skills in math, reading or language
- An adult trying to pass a standardized test, such as the ACT, CDL, Compass or ASVAB exams
- A child or adult who wants to learn English
- An adult who needs basic computer skills
- An adult seeking to understand their finances better
- An adult wanting better employability skills
The schedule for tutoring is decided by you and your tutor. Most people meet once or twice a week.
Lessons for adults and teenagers take place In the Literacy Council office, at a library, a church, or a school—any place that is quiet and private. Lessons for children take place at school or at the Literacy Council office.
Lessons are private and confidential.
Tutoring is FREE.
