We provide GED, English as a Second language, and computer training primarily to Spanish speaking adults in the northern suburbs of Chicago. While our work centers on training early childhood education providers, we find there are limited literacy resources for adults in our town. Together for Childhood Network started in 2006 with just 17 child care providers. Today we support roughly 60 child care sites with the professional development training adults need to gain work skills and support their young children. We are in the process of hiring a permanent GED instructor, as we now contract for this service.
