Program Overview

Todd County Adult Education, located behind Todd County Central High School, provides classes and tutoring services to prepare students to take their GED, and enter college or employment. TCAE prepares students for their GED test using direct instruction in our classes and distant learning products like KET's Fast Forward. Classes and tutoring are also provided for students needing assistance in improving their skills for employment. We give the NCRC test resulting in a National
Career Readiness Test, which many employers prefer or require for employment. TCAE provides assistance to students who need to prepare for the NCRC test by using the online WIN program. This is an online program that helps to remediate skills and prepare students for college and career. Assistance is provided for students who wish to enter college by providing financial and admission counseling. If a student needs assistance in improving their skills to enter college, we provide the help needed. ELL classes are provided on Wednesday nights at the Petrie Methodist Church for people wanting to improve their English skills beginning at 6 pm.

In our growing world of technology it is more and more important that our students have computer skills. We provide the TABE test, GED Ready test, the NCRC test, all which are given over the Internet on a computer. Many students in Todd County either do not have Internet access or do not have a computer and we provide these for students who need to prepare for the GED or prepare for employment. Todd County Adult Education is a vital link to the educational skills that our community needs to be successful citizens.
