Student and Volunteer Success Stories

Success Story 1:

The Pivot Path and it's founder Ms. Ashley Johnson is a GOD SENT. My story is simple, I dropped out of school in the 10th grade. One day I was given the Pivot Path's information and signed up. I went to three classes, took the test and the rest is history. THANK YOU PIVOT PATH!!!!! - Alvin

Success Story 2:

If you're reading this review, please read all the way until the end! I'm a bit of a wordy person, but it's worth it!!! (there was no character limit so I took that as an opportunity to be a little chatty) I dropped out of high school when I was 17 years old. I didn't know what to do, or what trajectory I wanted for my life. For about a year or so, I floated around without any sort of direction. I knew I needed to get my GED, but had absolutely no idea how, where to start, what resources I needed, etc. This induced so much stress and anxiety for me, on levels that I cannot even begin to find words for.

One day, I got a message from my aunt about an organization called "The Pivot Path." She told me that there were people available to help me get my diploma, and to be quite honest, I was really nervous. I was so terrified of judgement for being so young and not knowing what I wanted. I walked into the library that day with absolutely no idea about the kindness I was going to encounter. That day, I met a man named Anthony, who was so kind, encouraging, and excited that I was there, & he passed me on to the incredible inspiration of a woman that is Ms. Ashley Johnson! Not only did she help me with the physical resources that I needed, but she provided me with so much encouragement, support, and guidance! There was absolutely zero judgement in the building, or in the hearts of anyone there. From the moment I got there to the day I passed my exam, (spoiler alert: I did pass!) I felt loved and supported the whole way.

I am now the first graduate of The Pivot Path, and what an honor that is!!! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to get back on track. Everyone is so kind and amazing, and I learned SO much!!!! - Rebecca

Success Story 3:

I'm grateful I had the opportunity to come upon The “Pivot Path" GED program. It's an amazing Adult Education program. From the teachers who came every week to teach us to the instructor who made it a possibility for me to successfully earn my GED. They were all great and super helpful and they motivated me to keep going and not to give up I just want to say thank you so much. - Ta'Hija
