Program Overview
AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT
Children from grades K - 5 meet Monday through Thursday throughout the school year for homework assistance and engaging educational activities.
HOMEWORK HELPERS
Middle- and high-school students meet four days a week for assistance with homework, papers, research, and overall comprehension of student curriculum.
INDIVIDUAL TUTORING
One-on-one tutoring is offered twice a week for K-12 students in any subject
ADULT LITERACY
One-on-one tutoring is available for adults who want to build and/or strengthen their literacy levels.
HIGH-SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY DIPLOMA (GED)
Courses are offered in collaboration with Southwestern Community College to help students pass their GED test and to better prepare them for the workforce.
ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL)
Classes are designed for both children and adults from numerous native languaes to teach reading and writing proficiency in the English language.
IN-SCHOOL TUTORING
Literacy volunteers work in 5 Macon County Schools to bolster students' reading skills.
DOLLY PARTON IMAGINATION LIBRARY
Books are sent monthly to children from birth to their fifth birthday, all free of cost to families.
