The Learning Cafe

Program Overview

The Learning Café (TLC), is a welcoming, informal space where families can learn English and practice their English proficiency, build social connection and seek other assistance, support and training. HUF clients and their families will encounter a one-stop, integrated source for resources and an access point to all of HUF's wrap-around services. A facilitator provides structured and informal activities geared toward English proficiency and acculturation.

TLC will also contain a Learning Lab where computers, cash registers, conference phone units and more will help
participants build confidence through group training, 1:1 assistance and self-guided learning opportunities. Through digital literacy training and practice with digital tools, clients will improve their employability and their confidence. Job coaching and training in soft skills will also be provided. TLC
will serve 50 families.
