Program Overview

The Black Literacy Parent Network is a family literacy program that helps adults and children grow strong reading skills together. Adults receive reading instruction that builds confidence and understanding of how reading works. They also learn simple, proven ways to help their children read at home.

Children receive reading support focused on phonics, reading practice, and understanding stories. Families take part in Parent and Child Together (PACT) time, where adults and children read and practice skills side by side. Families receive easy-to-follow reading guides and materials to use at home. The program is open to caregivers and children who want to build better reading habits in a supportive community setting.
