Program Overview

The English Language Institute (ELI) at Onondaga Community College (OCC) helps adults improve their English language skills for school, work and everyday life. We offer free, friendly, supportive classes for reading, writing, speaking and listening. Students learn the English language skills they need to succeed in college classes, job training programs, and their communities.

Our teachers understand that learning a new language can be challenging, so we move step by step and give students lots of practice and support. We welcome learners from diverse backgrounds and help each person reach their goals with confidence.
