Program Overview
Program is designed to test and tutor individuals who struggle with reading, writing, and math, often called dyslexia or dyscalculia. Tutoring curriculum uses a proven direct instruction, multi-sensory, phonics approach. Sessions are highly structured and follow a defined set of learning activities and goals. Additional strategies are tailored to meet the specific needs of each student. TLC's Clinical Director, Dr. William Kitz, oversees the instruction and supervises highly trained tutors. TLC's approach to students is positive and affirming; tutoring is provided at TLC offices in person, either one-on-one or in small groups. In the future, virtual sessions will be offered. There are three 13-week terms per year; 2 sessions per week (approximately 1 hour each).
