Summer Reading Camp

Program Overview

This is a summer reading camp for rising pre-k - first graders. The program will be funded through grants and district funds. Approximately 30 students will receive direct reading instruction in groups of five. Parents will also be included as part of this camp. Adult Ed/ English Language instruction will be provided for a group of parents. In addition, community speakers will be invited for a short time each day to share on a variety of topics from public library availability to financial planning. Childcare will be provided for those parents participating in the adult learning time. Breakfast will be provided daily for students in the program. Lunch will be provided daily for students and parents participating in the program. Student progress will be monitored weekly. Books and reading materials will be provided to all students.
