Program Overview
Humanities Tennessee (HT) works to inspire youth to nurture their talents, abilities, and interests in reading and writing through the Student Reader Days (SRD) program. Students attending select Title I elementary, middle, and high schools will be connected with a well-known author at their school for a presentation, book-signing, and discussion. Prior
to the visit, students will receive a free copy of the author's book to read, to prepare for their interaction, and then to take home for their personal collection. Teachers often incorporate
these books into their classroom discussions. We anticipate reaching more than 1,000 children through this program in Tennessee schools.
