Program Overview

Blessings Working Together (BWT) offers family literacy and adult basic education to address the literacy strengths and needs of the family/community while promoting adults' involvement in children's academic success. BWT's Strengthening Families program provides a supportive, nonjudgmental environment wherein teen mothers within the Clayton, Dekalb, and Fulton County service areas. who were at risk for homelessness can attend workshops that include services such as literacy support, counseling, parenting and life skills, and connect participants with partner resources to support independence.

Strengthening Families program activities are as follows: Literacy tutoring two-hour workshops for teen parents and children; GED Exam Prep two-hour workshop; Parenting and life skills two-hour workshops. Participants will be provided a healthy meal that meet the nutritional guidelines and other personal items as needed.

We also offer basic computer skills, job training, employment placement assistance, mentoring sessions, and financial literacy.
Hours of Operation 6pm-8pm M-Th / 11am-2pm Sat

All tutors are university interns.
