Program Overview
St. Gerard Campus is a maternity home for students ages 12-20 who are pursuing their high school diploma or GED. Our mission is to empower our students who are pregnant and/or parenting through education, support, and healing. 50% of students who become pregnant in high school drop out, mostly due to a lack of support during school hours. All of our students are eligible for free daycare while in classes. To ensure success we also provide our students with transportation, healthy snacks and lunch, and social services. Additionally we incorporate enrichment classes to help develop skills such as financial literacy, child development, and college readiness.
Student and Volunteer Success Stories
This program fully equips students. As the Executive Director of St. Gerard Campus I am an alumni of the Class of 2003. I graduated from St. Gerard Campus with a bright future scholarship and went on to attend nursing school and later graduated from Bible school, ultimately returning to the school that had invested so much in me. Each year we have multiple students attend from various backgrounds and different counties. Amber, a graduate of the Class of 2018, began attending SGC when she faced an unplanned pregnancy. She was able to fulfill all required classes to graduate. She has since gone on to work at a doctor's office and has recently moved on to work for St. Johns County. Renee, a fellow classmate from the Class of 2003, graduated with honors and also attended nursing school. She has successfully entered and maintained a career as a nurse for almost 20 years.
