Program Overview

The Adult & Pre-College Education program is a completely FREE program for students and community members who are ready to make a positive change in their lives! We provide information, practice skills, and resources to help participants earn their GED® credential, improve their English language abilities, and brush up on reading, writing, and math skills.

We prepare students for success in their families and communities, the workforce, and future education programs. Classes are available through both our Coos and Curry Campuses and online via Zoom.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

“The GED program changed my life. I dropped out of high school my sophomore year of high school due to life circumstances and as I got older and entered adulthood it felt impossible to ever go back. But, I did and I haven't stopped since! The GED program at SWOCC made it easy to overcome my anxieties and push myself to succeed. I have finished my Associate's Degree at SWOCC, and am earning my bachelors in business administration, specializing in entrepreneurship and innovation."

Ashley Cates-Erhart

“The fact that I was able to benefit from the classes online was a lifesaver, considering I live miles away from the campus. They provide numerous additional external help sources like GED flashcards, practice tests, web links and videos explaining the subjects further, pre-recorded classes in case you can't make it to class or missed something during the class, the list goes on. … Everything you need is there, all you have to do is take it and use it. You won't feel lost nor alone. Best academic program that ever happened to me."
