Program Overview

Our mission is helping adults to overcome academic (reading, writing, math) and language barriers and prepare for a lifelong career adventure. Individualized learning plans are based on student's assessments scores and educational goals. It is free to attend. Classes are held 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm every Tuesday and Thursday. Students are expected to attend at least 3 hours of classroom instruction per week. Students can study outside of class with online curriculum in addition to the classroom hours. Students can enroll on the SWTC webpage at https://www.swtech.edu/page/enroll-now.


Adult Education and Family Literacy – Do you need help with your basic academic skills to get into career tech, college, or a new job? This program enables adults to improve their basic reading, writing, language, and math skills.

High School Equivalency Preparation – Students over the age of 18 who have not finished high school can prepare to complete a High School Equivalency exam (GED, or HiSET) to receive a high school equivalency diploma. 16 and 17 year old students can be accepted into the program if they present a release form from the last high school they attended.

English Language Learners/Citizenship Classes – helps non-native speakers adults to communicate in English, to increase their understanding of American culture, and citizenship skills.

Practical Nursing Prep Course – Improve basic academic skills to be a competitive applicant for the practical nursing program and more successful in the practical nursing program.
