Program Overview
Refugee families come to the United States seeking a safe haven from violence and persecution in their home countries. They leave behind family and friends, as well as virtually everything they own. Many Americans, seeing these families in their communities, wonder: What can I do to help? Miry's List provides a mechanism for people to directly help new arrival refugee families with the things, people and programming needed to thrive in a new country – from essential supplies, to conversational English classes and professional mentorship.
The mission of Miry's List is to improve the experience for new arrival families by filling gaps in the governmental system of support for refugees, and providing a mechanism for our community of supporters to directly help families with the things, people and programming needed to thrive in the United States.

WHAT OUR TUTORS SAID:
“The opportunity to work with my student and the SANAH program was unlike anything I've ever done before. It's incredible to see not only what my student learned from me, but the life lessons and messages that I learned from him. I had such an amazing time getting to know him, and I will never forget this program" - High School SANAH Tutor
“I adored getting to know them has been the most rewarding part of my Miry's List work. I look forward to reconnecting with them once all our kids are back to school — and we can start up our English conversations again!" - Adult SANAH Tutor
“It was an extremely insightful experience. This was the first time I had taught someone before but I really enjoyed it. While I taught English and American traditions the most insightful part was learning from my student and the traditions she practiced and followed. It was a great way of connecting and socializing with someone I would've probably never met. “ - High School SANAH Tutor
