Program Overview

The Salvation Army Mississippi Gulf Coast Area Command focuses on helping our clients improve their daily lives by providing basic adult education courses that help our clients eventually become self sufficient. Our goal is to end homelessness and severe poverty here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast by educated our clients on basic skills they can use to gain employment. This skills include: basic reading and writing skills, GED testing, budgeting skills, resume writing, dressing for success and grocery shopping courses.

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
