Program Overview
Safer Foundation's PACE Institute offers specializes in serving individuals with arrest and conviction records, regardless of the offense or how long ago it occurred, but programming is available to the community at large. PACE provides adult education, High School Equivalency preparatory services, and bridge programming. The curriculum is designed to enhance performance skills in areas such as: Language Arts, Reading, Reasoning through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Problem Solving, Social Communication, and Job Readiness. Utilizing an independent study program that runs from 2-6 hours, 4 times/week, coursework is facilitated through direct instruction, including 1:1 tutoring, and small group learning exercises. PACE is an open enrollment, open entry program, with rolling entry throughout the year. In-person and hybrid options are available for course completion. Safer Foundation also provides HSE testing services, as the agency is an approved HSE testing site.

"I have served on the Board of Managers for PACE Institute since 1999 and have volunteered with the program for over 40 years on a weekly basis. Through my work with the program, I have seen the transformative power of individuals increasing in educational competency, one grade level at a time. The PACE Institute does an amazing job of facilitating meaningful educational progress for individuals in the program." ~Gail Rice
