Program Overview

The SAD 1 Adult & Community Education program in provides for the educational needs of all community members in Presque Isle and surrounding communities. Each year approximately 1,300 students participate in our program to complete their high school diploma, College Transitions, work and career readiness, and for personal enrichment. Mission Statement

SAD 1 Adult & Community

Education is focused on identifying educational needs within our community and creating opportunities for those needs to be met. We strongly believe in the importance of being a life-long learner and that those learning opportunities come in all shapes and sizes. Adult & Community Education is best known for assisting adults complete their high school credential, either through the diploma-credit system or by completing the HiSET (formerly the GED). While those continue to be important programs, we are growing other programs as well. We also offer College Transitions to help prepare adults for college or university as well as a variety of personal enrichment programs for both children and adults. We currently serve about 800 students per

Hours of operation: 8:00 am - 9:00 P.M. M-Th; 8:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. F

Cost info: There is NO COST for Adult Basic Education (ABE) services, High School completion classes, HiSET (formerly the GED), or ELL classes. There are class fees associated with College Transitions and Personal Enrichment classes.
