Program Overview
We actively recruit adult volunteers to help them find the ideal opportunity for them to share their talents with the community. We have many programs that volunteers can help with including adult literacy, reading to children, mentoring school age children, virtual tutoring for math and chemistry, reading help for school age children and many others.
Our Family Literacy Program collaborates with Head Starts in Chester, Montgomery and Delaware Counties and Children's Village in Philadelphia to provide volunteer readers to their preschool classrooms and parent literacy workshops.
Student and Volunteer Success Stories
Family Literacy Volunteer Quote "I have been in the classroom three times. And I LOVE IT! Jen and Susanna are great teachers and wonderful people to work with, and the kids are awesome! I have been staying for the full school day, and have been able to contribute in many ways in addition to the reading component of the program. At this point, I believe the children are comfortable with me, and I have gotten to know not just their
names, but their likes and dislikes and different styles of learning and engagement."Quote from Kindergarten Teacher, Blue Bell Elementary-" Mrs. W made a SIGNIFICANT impact on the students. She added life, exploration, growth, and hard work to our classroom environment. The students responded exponentially to her. There are too many examples to type on this document! She truly cares and is an incredible educator! :) The students respect her and are event more eager to learn with her. THANK YOU!"
I'm having such fun it never
seems like work!
