Program Overview
WAYS for Life is a solution-based skills center supporting youth ages 15-25 in preventing homelessness and crime. WAYS provides former foster youth and those experiencing homelessness with access to a wide range of services including an Educational Learning Lab, mentors, tutors, a GED FastTrack Program, assistance finding affordable housing, a mental health counselor, an attorney for legal services, Get Ready for Employment classes, financial literacy classes, life skills classes, Get Ready to Rent a Home classes, and access to a food pantry and a clothing closet. We understand that until immediate basic needs are met, it is nearly impossible to contemplate the future...and WAYS believes that all young people deserve the opportunity for a successful future.

WAYS for Life, f/k/a Ready for Life Brevard, offers comprehensive wraparound services free of charge for young adults formerly in foster care and those experiencing homeless. In addition to the GED FastTrack Program, WAYS offers tutoring, homework help, and assistance with postsecondary education and employment for the individuals we serve.Student and Volunteer Success Stories
•D.S. has disabilities and previously lived in an Adult Living Facility for dementia patients while in foster care.
•D.S. turned 22 and was forced to leave foster care without housing, without a job,
without a HS diploma, without any financial support.•WAYS for Life obtained housing for D.S. using the Foster Youth to Independence Housing Choice Voucher (FYI Voucher).
•WAYS acquired a mentor and psychosocial rehabilitative services for D.S.
•WAYS helped D.S. finish high school.
•WAYS assisted D.S. with his application for Social Security Benefits (SSI).
•WAYS secured a payee to help D.S. manage his monthly SSI income.
•WAYS helped D.S. to enroll in Vocational Rehabilitation.
•D.S. now has a part-time job at a car wash walking distance from his home.
•D.S. plays Special Olympics soccer with a volunteer coach from WAYS for Life.
