Program Overview
READ/San Diego is a free literacy instruction service for low-literate English speaking adults 18 years of age and older. The program targets the estimated 444,000 low-literate adults in San Diego County and strives to break the cycle of intergenerational illiteracy through its Families for Literacy (FFL) Program by equipping low-literate adults with the basic skills and resources needed to attain personal goals and function to the best of their ability as parents, workers and community members.
