Program Overview

Reading Works trains community volunteers to tutor adults in literacy, math, computers and English as a Second Language. Clients are matched with a tutor. You will meet in any public location on days and times convenient for you.

Mission Statement

Our purpose is to help adults secure gainful employment, advance in their education and thereby give their children financial security and a greater chance for their own academic success.

Hours of operation: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Cost info: One time processing fee at intake: $10.00 All other services are free of charge

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

The Library of Congress named Reading Works a 2017 Best Practices in Literacy Honoree. Reading Works was one of 18 programs from six countries honored.

Program’s Demographics/Metrics

Teens age 16 and older who are not enrolled in school. Adults age 18 and older.
