Program Overview

READ Pinellas, Inc, is a resource and referral agency serving adult education students in Pinellas County FL. Referrals are made for adult students wishing to improve English or reading literacy, prepare for the GED® exam and classes for refreshment of basic academic skills. Resources for training volunteer tutors, mini-grants for classroom teachers, and sponsorship of community literacy events are also provided.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

By supplying mini-grants to classroom teachers, READ is able to fund resources not normally available to adult students. Past grants have paid for reading glasses, classroom libraries, field trips to museums, bus passes for transportation to school, celebrations of student success, vouchers to help defray the cost of the GED® EXAM and much more
