Program Overview

READ With Me Program

Our cornerstone program offers vulnerable families an opportunity to choose and receive one new FREE book, each month, for each child in their household from birth to five years old.

While READ With Me is similar in concept to other literacy programs, READ has made five commitments it believes make the program unique.

Commitment to family choice. Families get to choose each month which book they want their child to receive from a list of five curated books.

Commitment to offering culturally relevant and diverse books. All children and their narratives should be reflected in books.

Commitment to offering bilingual and/or Spanish books.

Commitment to helping families go beyond reading the book. Each book comes with bilingual tips and
enrichment activities.

Commitment to educating families about the importance of reading through reading playgroups, texts, and extra mailed materials.
