Program Overview

Reaching for the Stars Empowerment Inc. is a program that helps students with tutoring and mentoring. We also encourage parents to join their children in reading sessions and attend fun field trips together. Parents can volunteer to read to the class and even take English lessons themselves.

Our program is open to students who need extra help with learning, and we welcome parents who want to be more involved in their child's education. We believe that learning is better when families learn together! Volunteers are welcome.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

"John's journey with our organization began with significant struggles in reading. He initially lacked basic phonics skills, unable to identify even the sounds of letters. This hindered his academic progress and severely impacted his self-esteem, as he faced teasing from classmates.

Through consistent and personalized support, primarily focused on phonics instruction, John has made remarkable strides. He can now confidently sound out and spell numerous words. While the learning disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic presented challenges, his progress has been steady and encouraging.

A key factor in his success has been the development of phonemic awareness, enabling him to break down and understand words more effectively. This newfound ability has not only improved his reading skills but has also significantly boosted his confidence. He now approaches reading with a newfound sense of pride, a stark contrast to the shame he previously experienced.

Witnessing John overcome these challenges is truly inspiring. It serves as a powerful testament to the transformative power of targeted and patient support, not only in addressing academic challenges but also in rebuilding a child's self-worth and belief in their own potential."
