REACH Together is a community resource primarily for the refugee and immigrant community that lives in the Dayton's Bluff neighborhood of St. Paul, MN. English literacy and citizenship classes for adults are offered year round. Classes are free and enrollment is open.
English literacy classes are held Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Classes are small with less than 20 students at any one time. The teachers are experienced and and have education-related advanced university degrees. Limited transportation is provided.
Citizenship classes are provided Friday afternoons from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Advanced conversation classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m.
The mission of REACH Together is to improve the lives of
refugees through education, advocacy, and collaboration in neighborhoods with concentrated refugee populations. Services
are provided to help new Americans adjust from life in refugee camps to living in the urban environment of St. Paul, Minnesota. Its ESL classes give individuals opportunities to learn English so they are better prepared to get jobs and support their families. New citizens are eligible to vote. Translators answer questions and solve problems. The goal of REACH Together is to offer services that help New Americans smooth their way toward self-sufficiency and engaged community involvement.
