Program Overview

Project Light of Manatee is a community program that helps adults improve their English, reading, writing, and job skills. Adults from many countries attend our classes to build confidence and learn skills they need for daily life and work.

The program offers English classes (ESOL) for beginner and intermediate learners. Students practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in a friendly and supportive environment. Lessons also include everyday topics such as work, health, and communication in the community.

Classes are taught by trained volunteer teachers in small groups so students receive personal attention. Many students work during the day and attend evening classes.

Project Light serves adults across Manatee County and welcomes students from all backgrounds. Community members can also volunteer or support the program.
