Program Overview

PRIME TIME FAMILY READING TIME This February and March, the Interlachen Public Library is scheduled to host a program called PRIME TIME FAMILY READING TIME® which is designed to help school age children (6-10 years old) improve their reading skills by involving the whole family in making reading fun. PRIME TIME shows families how reading together and openly discussing books can help children want to read more often and become better readers as a result. PRIME TIME doesn't just help to improve reading skills; it also has been proven to positively impact student achievement by enhancing critical thinking and reasoning skills.

The programs are free and include a nutritious meal, door prizes, and gift books. Child care is available for younger siblings during the program. PRIME TIME programs are presented by a discussion leader and a storyteller who use award-winning children's books.

Families who want to participate must preregister and may do so by calling the Interlachen Library at 386-684-1600 or filling out a registration form at the Front Desk. PRIME TIME will be held every Thursday at 6pm February 1st through March 8th at the Interlachen Public Library on 133 North County Road 315 (across from Interlachen High School). This program is made possible by a grant from the Florida Humanities Council.
