Program Overview

Adult Basic Education (ABE) is a free educational program designed to help adults who are lacking a high school diploma build their reading, writing, math and problem-solving skills. For many this is the first step toward obtaining their GED certificate. Classes meet three-to-six hours per week and are offered at the main campus in Glen Ellyn.

Free High School Equivalency (HSE) preparation classes prepare adults that lack a high school diploma to successfully pass the GED tests and earn a high school equivalency certificate. Classes offer integrated instruction in the five areas covered on the GED tests: social studies, science, interpreting literature and the arts, mathematics and writing.

Online classes are available to qualified students.
