Program Overview

PPGJLI's youth education project is centered on promoting reading, cultural awareness, and leadership development. Our book, Justice Makes a Difference: The Story of Miss Freedom Fighter, Esquire, and the accompanying curriculum focuses on empowering tomorrow's leaders today.

The Leaders are Readers program occurs every first Saturday of the month at the Rondo Community Library. This program offers youth positive messaging and relatable characters both of which have been shown to increase literacy and address the systemic inequities associated with illiteracy such as low earning potential, future incarceration, and poor health.

PPGJLI also supports and provides other literacy opportunities such as writing competitions, author awards, workshops and more.

Cost Info

All programming is free and open to the public. PPGJLI occasionally teaches writing workshops for a fee.
