Program Overview

Pine View Elementary will offer three Adult Education programs. The first component of our adult education program will be to provide G.E.D. classes to our parents and community who are interested in obtaining their G.E.D. This class will be offered two times a week for two hours and will run twenty weeks. The second component of our adult education program will be to offer computer classes to our parents and the community. Our computer classes will consist of word processing, web design, and basic computer skills. This class will be offered one day a week for two hours and will run for twenty weeks. The third component we will offer in our adult education program will be to offer ESL classes to our parents and community members. These classes will be offered once a week for two hours and will run for twenty weeks. Parents of our kindergarten students will also be offered parenting classes that will show parents ways to study with their student and how to help them be successful in the school environment. These classes will be offered one night a week for eight weeks. Pine View Elementary Children's Education program will consist of three components. The first component will be before and after school homework help. Students who struggle or having difficulty with classwork will be able to stay after school two days a week for an hour each day. This program will run for twenty-eight weeks. The second component of our Children's Education program will be after school tutoring. Students who test scores fall below the proficiency level on the state test will be able to stay after school and work on skills that will help them to increase their scores. Tutoring classes will be held two days a week for an hour each day and will run for twenty-eight weeks. The final component of our Children's Education program will be to offer our ESL students English/tutoring classes. This class will be held two times a week for one hour each class. This component would run for twenty-eight weeks.
