Program Overview

**Pierce College Adult Diploma/High School Diploma (PDAD)

Pierce College Adult Diploma (PCAD) program offers curriculum based on the student's credit needs for achieving their goals. Regardless of how long it has been since a student's education was interrupted, students can get back on track, earn college credit, and obtain a Washington State High School Diploma. Courses include writing, mathematics, reading, history and science.

**Basic Education for Adults

Basic Education for Adults (BEdA) is perfect for students who need some refresher courses before enrolling in high school completion or college classes, taking the official GED test, the placement test, or who simply want to improve their basic skills.

**English as a Second Language (ESL)

Our integrated ESL classes are designed to meet the language needs of our immigrant community. Courses include language, writing, mathematics, reading, history and science. Classes are offered at sites throughout Pierce County and at the Fort Steilacoom or Puyallup campuses.

Pierce College also offers the I-DEA (Integrated Digital English Acceleration) program where students use technology to learn English as a second language. Students improve their English language, technology and career-readiness skills.

**General Education Development (GED)

Pierce College offers classwork to help you prepare for the GED exam. A GED is a certificate that is equivalent to a high school diploma. It meets most employment criteria and the educational eligibility requirement for federal financial aid.
