Program Overview

Partners in Education provides a number of literacy programs and events to supplement traditional preK-12 learning. We provide financial literacy programs, Financial Fitness, for children and families and partner with social service agencies to target populations in need of this service. The Museum runs regular Preschool Discovery Days that emphasize school readiness skills in reading and math. We have a series titled "Paint Me a Story" that encourages literacy skills by coupling an art project with reading. We have an annual Edible Book Contest which encourages community involvement in reading through creating an edible creation based on a book. Proceeds for the event benefit literacy programs at four area libraries. BLOOMCON HAK4KIDZ is a family friendly no cost white-hat hacking/technology festival produced by the Children's Museum for BLOOMCON. We also produce the Bloomsburg Mini Maker Faire, The free event that occurs every spring, emphasizes invention and technology literacy. Please check the Museum's Website for scheduled times and dates www.the-childrens-museum.org

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

"Seeing a little boy actually learn from his hands, mind, and great staff teaching makes me so happy. I get tired of seeing kids buried in their electronics and video games. This is how play was meant to be." Leslie Stanczyk
