Student and Volunteer Success Stories

"I didn't have any friends or relatives in the U.S. My English was very poor, and I didn't know how to drive…a tutor of Onslow Literacy Council…taught me English and took me to DMV to get my driver's license…helped me gradually to work up the courage to face life…Now when I go anywhere it's not hard for me. I can drive my car by myself. From dependent to independent- that is my life…Thank you, Literacy Council!"- JYL (One of our ESOL students. She graduated from OLC and is now proudly attending Community College and looking forward to a career.)
