Student and Volunteer Success Stories
As an elementary school principal, it is a difficult task to find community agencies to collaborate with that have a full understanding of the scope of services available within a public-school system. The first meeting we had with the Omega Team virtually eliminated that challenge. The leadership team at Omega was exceptionally open and honest with our school staff. It was clear they were working in the best interest of their client; however, it was also evident they valued our input and were willing to enhance our skill set while working with the unique needs of the children we share. We find Omega to be direct, knowledgeable, and willing to work side-by-side with us to ensure our children succeed. The student Omega worked with at our school was in the discipline office on a daily basis. In fact, there were times the student was there multiple times per day. We got to the point where we were contemplating a request for an alternative placement. When we shared that with the parent, she immediately sought outside help. Within a few days we found ourselves at a problem-solving meeting with the leadership team of Omega Behavior Analysis. It was one of the most productive meetings I participated in with anyone not associated with our school.
Typically, district level or other professionals come to the school and talk about what we are doing wrong as a school and what needs to be done better without any offer of assistance to
implement the new ideas. This is not the case with Omega. The team had a behavior tech on campus every day and at least twice a week the Analysts would show up. It got to a point that
the students and teachers responded to the overwhelming support Omega provided. What started with one parent referral to Omega has increased to 7 and we could not be more grateful. The students and teachers are experiencing success. We have a way to go, but progress is definitely evident. There have been no alternative placements pursued.
