Program Overview

The Adult Education Program is specifically designed for adults who have different needs, backgrounds, and skills. Therefore, a flexible program has been created which meets the needs of any individual who wishes to participate. Two levels of instruction have been developed which extend from beginning reading and writing to high school completion through the General Education Development (GED) Program.

Adult Basic Education provides instruction for reading readiness, basic mathematics skills, and an introduction to writing and basic grammar, provides instruction in reading comprehension, reading in the content areas, mathematics, and language arts.

Adult Secondary Education provides instruction in reading, science, social studies, grammar and writing skills, and mathematics. This level will develop the skills necessary for completion of the GED examination.

Instruction is offered to individuals who do not need their GED but need to increase their skills in a particular subject area, ex: fractions, grammar, writing, etc. free of charge.
