Program Overview

The mission of the Office of Adult and Continuing
Education (OACE) is to empower adults in their roles as parents, family members, workers and community members. OACE is the largest provider of adult literacy education services in New York State and the largest adult education program in
the country, serving more than 41,000 students throughout the five boroughs of New York City. OACE provides tuition free classes in Basic Education, English as a Second Language and Career and Technical Education.
