Program Overview

Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc. is a non-profit that has been serving the Memphis community for over 40 years. Beginning in 1978, our founders saw the need in the under-resourced communities of Memphis and from there, our organization has grown to have 9 site locations across the city. Out of our site locations, we offer Compassionate Services (emergent food and clothing), Youth Empowered to Succeed (after school homework and recreational programs, literacy aid, summer programs, college preparedness), and Adult and Family Services (continuing education, GED and HISET courses, counseling, marriage classes). In 2018, NCC served over 55,000 thousand people through our services. Our main site location is located in North Memphis at 785 Jackson, please contact this office if you would like any additional information. We partner with Mid-South Literacy and Arise 2 Read for our after school literacy programs.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

Michelle Green lived in Robinhood Apartment Complex in her high school years and got involved with the NCC: Robinhood Site Location, located inside of the apartment complex. Through the after school program and our high school summer program, NCC: College and Arts, Michelle became heavily involved with NCC programs. Michelle graduated high school, went on to graduate college, and now works as our Site Coordinator at our South East Shelby Site Location.
