Program Overview

Competency Based(CB) Adult Daytime High School

The CB Adult Daytime High School accepts new students every six weeks on a first come first served basis until the program's capacity is met. Once an application is received, it will be reviewed by McLain staff. Students who are a good fit for the Adult Daytime High School will be invited to attend a mandatory orientation meeting. Students who are not accepted due to the program being full or for some other reason will be notified.
Adults who enter the daytime learning community must complete the Discovery Class their first six weeks. This highly structured introduction class is focused on learning about and developing advanced communication and career ready skills for students. Upon completion of Discovery Class, daytime CB learners enroll in core classes based on individual graduation requirement needs. Students have access to day classes Monday - Thursday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Student class start times are dependent on individual student credit needs and current class offerings.
