Program Overview

Making The Mark GED and Tutoring Program helps individuals who are trying to learn about the GED incentives, tutoring, and online studies. Classes are set up once initial orientation is done by appointment and if this program is not accommodating a participant we do referrals to other sites.

The GED incentives are better employment and College Ready Program to obtain a degree from an higher learning institution that will accept GED to further education for a degree.

Marking The Mark Enrichment Program is for youth who needs assistance in reading during the summer. The program is not limited to reading only but also other subjects that youth may have problems with that slow the progress of obtaining a better grade in school. Youth also receive free breakfast, lunch and snacks as well as incentives for attending the program. This program sponsored by BLOCS, Metro United Way, Metro Louisville Government, and Norfolk Community Area Council, Inc.

Family Literacy Enrichment and Engagement Program consist of parents, guardian, and the community to learn more of programs that build empowerment, education, job readiness skills, and to become self sufficient. Many of our participants are referred from case management, newsletters, and networking programs.

Delain M. Hunter has volunteered as the outreach coordinator at Community Connections Resource Center. She was able to use this title for job experience and because of her dedication, she is now the Outreach Director.
